Why is it so hard to accepted a person, but easy to accept a slow-witted..?

I woke up yesterday in the middle of my sleep with some high pitches of argument overpowering my sweet dreams. I stepped out of my feathery soft bed and headed towards the kitchen- the source of those high pitches. Yes, as expected! My aunt and our maid were in the midst of an age-old dispute- maid wanted a leave on Id and aunt wasn't willing to grant her one. The reason being that aunt will have to look after the entire household work- sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, chopping vegetables, washing utensils and cleaning the washrooms. "I wouldn't have had any problem had you sought leave on a normal day. But u r going on a day which is religious for us too! And we'll be occupied 24 hours with it! Who will look after the work!" my aunt said in dismay.
The maid gave an unconvinced expression with little sense of sorry. She was adamant to go. Who wouldn't be! After all she celebrated only 1 festival and a leave was must on the occasion!
That very day i was standing in the balcony when the entire conversation ran through my mind. I was chewing over the matter. Aunt had a point. But it was not as important and apposite as the one which maid possessed. Our maid celebrates just ONE festival. Who would want to clean licked spoons and oily plates on the day when others would be busy getting dressed up in new clothes and flashy accessories. Can't we compromise on our house's beauty for a day, and grant a "paid smile" rather than an unpaid leave?

Why do we tend to forget that irrespective of the job that one does, he/ she is a human being at the end. I feel very sorry when such pitiful thoughts strike my mind. Has the world forgot to consider very worker, helper, patient, black, left behind a human in the first stance and then a servant? Should the grown-ups be sent to schools to make them dust off the layers of materialism and egos from their conscious and recognize compassion and empathy that once bloomed in the same dwelling. We masters always count whatever we do for the unprivileged. We tend to flaunt our supremacy. But with such cheap hearts and miserly souls are we really supreme?
We expect our servant to do all our work, with perfection, and have a big heart to listen to our complaints, unsatisfactory remarks; little ego to mind our disheartening comments, without a reply; and then, finally turn up next day again with more strength and less mind to work for us obediently. Are we masters of servants or masters of slaves? Are we beholders of huge mansions, plentiful bank balances or beholders of cheap, exploiting, sulky souls?
We indict others with such accusations, but what are we practicing?
We call Earth the planet of Humans. But do we really mean it? Who calls or treats others as human? We treat others as servant, sweeper, helper etc. Why do we forget that in this journey of life, all will remain humans, only their job or service will change. Not their species.
We are just living in a world where 'humans' have become extinct. The new species that are discovered are called Business class, Service class, Helpers, Servants, Sweepers, Mentally retarded, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and experts say possibilities of finding more species are high!
